Fashion Wishlist: The Cambridge Satchel

I’ve been seeing the Cambridge Satchel popping up absolutely everywhere. This structured, yet versatile bad seems to be a huge trend in the UK, where it's originally made.
Our 11" Dark Brown and Cambridge Blue satchel
The bags come in many gorgeous sizes and colors, but I think I’ve narrowed it down to a 14” in oxblood. Oxblood has quickly become my favorite color, especially after Fall 2013, when the color became popular for the season. I think the deep maroon color is perfectly complementary, especially for someone with my shade of darker skin. That being said, I’ve stocked up on everything that color over the fall. Whether it be skirts, tops, or trashcans, my favorite color has become oxblood, so naturally, the color was a given.
I had to do some thinking about the sizes though. The satchel comes in an 11”, 13”, and 14” and 15” for the classic rectangular bag. I wanted to be sure that the bad wouldn’t look too big or small on me. Here’s the challenge: although I am a relatively short individual (5’2”), my measurements (which hover around 38-31-38) make it a challenge to find clothes that fit properly. In my opinion, the same applies to bags. Although I don’t want to look overwhelmed by a bag, I can’t let it get lost among my body either.  I also wanted a bag that held enough of my things. I’ve heard that although the satchel looks large, it holds less than it looks like it is capable of. Therefore, the 14” felt like it would both meet my demands and suit me the best!
Made in Britain, worn around the world: the Cambridge Satchel - A bright idea that’s made bags of money

The only issue here is the price. The nearly $195 price tag is preventing me from emptying my savings account, because, well, there are still tuition bills to pay. But it's definitely something I'd love to own in the future!
Have you ever had the dilemma of coveting a high end item and saving up for it?
