Who are you?

I'm Srijita (sree-jee-tuh), an almost-adult. I write about things that happen in my life and the usual fashion, beauty, and things that excite me in general.

Where are you from?

I live in California! I attend college in the North, but I was born and raised in the South, so I'm literally all over the state. 

So what do you do exactly?

I study! A lot! I'm a full time, overwhelmed student, mostly because I'm double majoring in Microbiology and History and trying to graduate in four years. Did I mention that I want to go to medical school too?

What's up with the name of the blog? Are you a housewife?

Not yet! Hence the "not quite" part. But in the future, I'd love to be a housewife. A very educated, kickass housewife.  Also, I love weddings and children, so settling down is something I’m quite looking forward to.

So is there some religious connotation then?

You must be referring to the Edward Taylor poem. Although I love literature, I'm not referring to the poem in question. (The "not quite" part applies here too!)

What kind of camera do you use?

Hah. I use my iPhone 4S. Sometimes I borrow my dad's Canon, but that's pretty hard, considering I live 500 miles away from him. I'm trying to save up for my own, but it may take a while.

Why are you blogging?

My entire life, I've always been told, indirectly or directly, that girls could either be interested in beauty and fashion or be interested in books and academics. And that has never made any sense to me. I remember trying to fit into one category or another and not really being able to, because I felt like a part of both. Maybe this blog is some late-teenage-rebellion-middle-finger-to-the-world, but I highly doubt it, considering that I’ve never been the rebellious type.

Also I love to write and I’ve never been too confident in my abilities. I took a Comparative Literature class my freshman year of college and the professor told me I was good and maybe he felt bad, but there’s also the chance that he was being serious, so here I am.
